We all have gone through this discussion somewhere in our life and we keep doing this. I respect both software in sense they have there own commerical market. I did not rate any one above other as they target different audience to me. Its just that they try to take others market in different fields.
Some one told me Linux is free, Okay its free so...I have to download 700MB CD to make it run and Need a Internet connection to download all its free softwares and have to be connected to internet all time to make it run whenever I got any error.
But on windows once paid I never have to call there customer support nor I did need to Search internet for solution.. it just run every for me... For me its Cost is Covered..:D
Okay thats not my topic of the day. Let me give my points
Linux
* Has Better Security than Windows because it has Better User Rights Management (User Management is similar in both) its just that Linux has use better Rights policies from scratch.
* Has Speed and Control of even the smallest application like even you can remove Copy file command from your linux box.
Windows
* Has Organize Developement Framework : Please don't argue this with me, if its not than my PHP has two different version running parallely to each other , Why I still see Kernel 2.4 source for download , Why we have issue with upgrades on linux more than Windows. the truth is that Windows use Oops in better way than Linux, Most of Open source software are in process of having two version running simultenously, but Windows run one software at a time (technically) not in terms of version . I dont mind having Red Hat linux and Debian Linux and Fedore.
* Has Better User Interface: yes there are themes in linux much better than Windows (not Includes Vista here) But I really feel these theme loose consistency and User has to see and wait for mouse over popup to come before he click on new theme button.
Now with Vista Windows lose that point I guess though I never review it. (Anyone please send me its CD .:oD )
* (-) Bulking Graphics Engine and Too many Bulk code is going with windows, I believe Microsoft never clear their Code for Windows if they does Its install size must reduce by 200 -300 MB they have lot of Useless bulking code and software going with windows...
Hope I didn't break some ones heart

Frontpage finally done
In my Last post I refer that I have install Frontpage extension for Apache. It looks like that I have complete all the things that are required, but when I try to "Extend" a Virtual Host on my apache server it fails, till later in the day I found the correct syntax to do the required...
To install Frontpage on Virtual host this works for me
./owsadm.exe -o install -t apache-2.0 -p 80 -xu testuser -xg testgroup -u testuser -p somepassword -m testuser.com -s /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
To uninstall Frontpage from Virtual Host
./owsadm.exe -o uninstall -t apache-2.0 -p 80 -xu testuser -xg testgroup -u testuser -p somepassword -m testuser.com -s /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
To fully uninstall I use this
./owsadm.exe -o fulluninstall -t apache-2.0 -p 80 -xu testuser -xg testgroup -u testuser -p somepassword -m testuser.com -s /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
hope that will help someone...

Installing FrontPage Extension on Apache 2.0
Installing Frontpage Extension on Apache ... what a great pleasure for any computer savvy techie, Making microsoft product work on Open source. To add to my pleasure, I have to do this installation on CentOs 3.6 (since its old version you don't get much people tell you answer but, they are already there to search).
It took nearly two days before I can make a Successful Installation. What i do to install this is simply download Frontpage files from microsoft download section. Download relevant files from here. Instruction for relevant file are given on that page itself.
Next you just need to follow this Frontpage extension Installation Tutorial.
If you found some problem just go to Documentation on RTR.com.
and if you still have problem, Just let me know and I will try to solve your problem.

Elinks : Text based web browser
Wayback in 2000 why I first take a look at Linux OS I wasn't sure what it is, for me its just a part of my computer course. There I learn RedHat 6.2 Linux and few software I take a look there are vi, pico, lynx. Lynx is Text Based web browser i used I wonder why one need text based browser when we have Internet explorer for windows and some GUI brower like Mozilla for Linux.
But after 5-6 year I get my answer. Now I need a better browser for my requirement since lynx is just a very basic browser and i know it from long time so I need another one for my requirement, just for sack of using new browser. And soon my search ends with Elinks (http://elinks.or.cz ).
It has cool interface (yes even on Black/white telnet window, it has popup menus and stuffs, just a great browser for black and white world of Linux Administrators...
Have a look at it, though it comes with my CentOs 3 and I am happy to get it there without any trouble :o)

Domain Name : What they are ?
If you are a proud owner of some website, you might have think of getting a deticated webserver for your site. And lot of us now have there own web server that are fully controlled by them. aah, not by them but by some applications called Cpanel, Plesk, webmin, etc etc.
Using these application you have hosted few domains on your webserver and it all works fine. But people who want to in depth of how a domain is hosted this article is for them.
let me define the domain. Domain is just a unique name given to your organization in cyber space. Actually this is not official defination but my way of looking to a domain. With my sentence above, I mean if I have Vikasumit.com it means "vikasumit" is a company/person/group/community/etc which is acting commerically. This is what the basic thinking of getting a domain.
This also mean "vikasumit.net" is a company/person/group/community/etc which is a active in Computer Networks. But these defination are avoided today and any one can have any domain for no reason. like a company will take .com,.org,.net and some there country domain for no reason. Infact for reason of mailing spam or "not to lose a single Hit".
Now, what is http://www.vikasumit.com than, well it's a URL for your "World Wide Web" that use "http"protocal by web browser and Machine that have your domain hosted.
Also, I have constantly us a word a webserver in this post refering to a hardware machine that I called dedicated Machine for your domain. I use this term in wrong manner as its not just a web server but in general a "server" which have web server, mail server, Nameserver and lot more servers running on it. I will explain these terms later in another post.
Its hard to write something ...:o)
Bye for today.
